My Review
The ‘Little Bear’ books, with their soft illustrations and the portrayal of a beautiful bond between parent and child, are classics! In this, by far the most read of the series in our house, Little Bear is afraid of the dark and can’t get to sleep. In the end, we see that it’s not fixing the problem with more light, but the comfort of Big Bear’s arms around him that he needs. It's a beautiful reminder that in scary situations, it’s not always what we choose to do, but who we have standing with us, that makes the difference.
Heads Up!
This is one of a series of 'Little Bear' books - all gorgeous!
Publisher Review
Described as 'the most perfect children's book ever written', this is the beautiful Kate Greenaway-winning story of Little Bear, who just can't sleep. There is dark all around him in the Bear Cave. Not even Big Bear's biggest lantern can light up the darkness of the night outside. Can Big Bear find a way to reassure restless Little Bear and help him fall fast asleep?
