My Review
I am a big fan of Marcia Williams - she has done so much to make classics from Homer to Shakespeare accessible for kids of all ages and reading abilities! Here she gives her inimitable treatment to Chaucers's Canterbury Tales - she keeps the humour and gist of the stories, editing out some of the ruder bits so they are (a little more!) appropriate for kids. For children who love comics, her books are a gift!
Heads Up!
There a lots of Marcia Williams titles to collect - they are brilliant for introducing a younger audience and reluctant readers to stories from the classics!
Publisher Review
Travel back to Medieval England and join Chaucer and his band of Canterbury pilgrims in this wonderful introduction to one of Britain's greatest literary legacies. These nine well-loved tales, from a host of colourful characters – the Knight, the Miller, the Reeve, the Wife of Bath, the Summoner, the Clerk, the Franklin, the Pardoner and the Nun's Priest – are brought to life with Marcia Williams' trademark witty, comic-strip art, allowing this classic text to be enjoyed by all ages.
