Children and adults alike won't forget the lesson to be learnt in this story - making friends with people who are different to you is a brilliant thing! I love the simplicity of this book - both the style and the storytelling are brilliantly minimalistic. This means the book can be used as a jumping off point for talking about acceptance and diversity in all kinds of different settings and the message is a universal one. An excellent book for reading aloud to a Reception class!
