My Review

Quirky and a bit silly, but lovely all the same! If you are trying to find a short chapter book for kids to escape the usual dross about fairies and monsters, this might be what you're looking for! Nim lives on an Island with her dad, Jack, who is a scientist. Her best friends are a sea lion called Selkie and in Iguana named Fred. She thinks life is pretty special, until one day Jack goes missing and she realises that maybe living all alone is not so much fun after all....

Nim has to be brave, to reach out for help, and when she does, she finds that her island only gets more wonderful!

Heads Up!

'Nim's Island' is the first in a series of Nim adventures by Wendy Orr.

Publisher Review

Nim lives on a beautiful island in the middle of the wide blue sea with her father, Jack, an iguana called Fred, a sea lion called Selkie and a turtle called Chica. But when Jack disappears and disaster threatens her home, Nim must be braver than she's ever been before. And she needs help from her friends . . . Delicious adventure-fantasy for readers aged 8+.
