My Review

I love the simple, funny concept of this book. It relies on children first having a working knowledge of all the animals in the book - but after that, they can play at matching up the animal halves and making a grown up pronounce the outlandish names for the creatures they have created! It's bright. colourful, and altogether very silly!

Heads Up!

If you like Mary Murphy's illustrations, there are other board books to explore, including 'I like it when...' and 'How Kind!'.

Publisher Review

Mix and match the split pages of this wacky board book to create incredible critters! Mary Murphy's raucous split page board book is perfect for helping little ones to mix and match. What do you call a cross between a tiger and a zebra? How on earth do you make an animal called a "likey"? Children will love to mix up the heads and tails of different animals to invent hilarious new ones, whilst developing their matching skills as they work out how the animals should look. Mary Murphy's adorable creatures and colourful art style are sure to delight readers and help develop a lifelong love of books.
