My Review

This classic dinosaur book is lots of fun to read aloud as it encourages you to change your voice depending on the size and ferocity of each dinosaur - we always had a great time making all sorts of funny/sad/hungry faces as we read together. The rhyming is spot on and unforced, and the book builds to its sound rich ending; 'All sorts of dinosaurs eating up their lunch.....gobble, gobble, nibble nibble, MUNCH MUNCH, CRUNCH!' It is simple but brilliant!

Heads Up!

This original book was first published in 1994 - since then a whole range of Dinosaur Roar books have been published. This is the original and, I think, the best! It seems hard to find a copy of this book in board form - we had a paper copy which survived many years roughly intact - but it's aimed at children in the board book age range, and the other books in the series are all board books, so I feature it here.
