My Review

'Flat Stanley' is a brilliant classic - the perfect example of the ingenius storytelling that can come about when an author asks themselves the question 'What if....?'. When Stanley is flattened one night when his pinboard falls on top of him as he sleeps, he discovers that his new shape opens up a world of possibilities! He ultimately ends up solving a crime by posing as the subject of a painting in a world famous art gallery and catching sought-after thieves red-handed! Memorable and so much fun, Jeff Brown manages to pack in so much story in a short book - it's a wonderful first introduction to the joys of reading independently.

Heads Up!

There are sequels to the original 'Flat Stanley' if you want to look them up.

Publisher Review

Stanley Lambchop was just an ordinary boy – until a noticeboard fell on him. Now he’s flat as a pancake! Being flat is fantastic – he can be rolled up, sent in the post and even fly like a kite. But it’s not all fun and games … there are thieves in town. Can the flattest boy in the world be its biggest hero? Jeff Brown’s world-famous character Flat Stanley continues to charm half a century after he first found his way into print.
