My Review
I particularly love the bright and vivid illustrations in this biography of Harriet Tubman aimed at young readers. Children will be amazed and inspired at the life of Harriet, who not only found a way to freedom against the odds herself, but returned again and again at her own risk to bring other slaves to freedom too.
Heads Up!
If you are interested in or wanting to teach children about the life of Harriet Tubman, another stunning book is 'Moses: When Harriet Tubman Led Her People To Freedom' by Carol Boston Weatherford . It focuses in much more on Harriet's faith and the strength it gave her, with conversations between Harriet and her God, with God's caring and empowering responses to her on nearly every page. It's absolutely beautifully illustrated and really gives the reader a sense of the intimacy of her walk with the God of Moses and the difference it made in her life.
