My Review

I came across this amazing book first when running a library visit at my local library for a class of year 2 children. The 'oohs' and 'aaahs' as I turned the pages and read the story of a little girl's dream of dragon riding, ogre fighting, and soaring above the clouds were really wonderful to hear! It's definitely a book to help kids fall in love with reading. The words are a poem, not always rhyming, but beautifully rhythmic and lovely to read at bedtime. The pop-ups are incredible and Kim's whimsical illustrations cover every surface. My favourite feature is the last page, where children can find hidden in the girl's bedroom all the objects that inspired her dream, and will want to read the story again to rediscover them all represented in her imaginary world. It's a beautiful book for sharing and creating reading memories - and perfect to give as a gift. One that will be treasured!

Heads Up!

Obviously, as a pop-up book, it's fragile and so you might want to keep it away from very little hands!

Publisher Review

. . . One moonlit night I sailed away in my silvery boat of dreams . . . A dream-weaving masterpiece of pop-up storytelling, bursting with dragons, starlight and adventure. Just turn the page to enter the magic.
