My Review

These, along with McCall Smith's 'Akimbo' books are my go-to recommendations for anyone trying to find a first chapter book for a child to get their reading teeth into. Set in Botswana, they follow the mystery-solving antics of a young Precious Ramotswe (of 'The No. 1 Lady's Detective Agency' fame). Short, fun, full of quirky illustrations, and an animal-related mystery for Precious to solve in each story, they are great for keeping young readers engaged.

Heads Up!

'Precious and The Monkeys' is the first in the series of Precious Ramotswe books for children - there are five altogether to collect!

Publisher Review

Well before Precious Ramotswe founded her Number One Ladies' Detective Agency, as an eight-year-old girl she was already solving mysteries. Here, in this delightful, enchanting tale for children, we find out just who has been stealing her schoolfriends' snacks and how the young Precious became the crafty and intuitive private investigator we all know and love!
