My Review

Sometime books about books can feel a bit twee - but this one, I just love! Peter Carnavas, celebrated Australian children's author, has perfectly captured the cosy, warm, wonderful heart connections that happen when we share books with those we love. This is a gorgeous book to read as an adult who loves sharing books with children, especially for parents who love fostering a love of books in their kids! I adore the illustrations of the family snugged up together in their tiny caravan which is utterly overflowing with books - they try to give them away because there is no room left for them to eat, and sleep, and be, but without books, things start to fall apart!

Heads Up!

In contrast to lots of new children's books, this one features a very traditional nuclear family - Mum, Dad, son and daughter - who, however, live in a caravan and don't subscribe to convention in their lifestyle at all!

Publisher Review

A book about loving and needing books and about libraries and how central libraries and books should be in our lives. Written and illustrated with wit and humour.
