My Review

Gorgeous pictures and such a clever concept - this book feels like magic! It's fitting, really, as that is what the northern lights feel like in real life - science that fills us with a magical sense of wonder - and this book perfectly pitches a fusion of the two. Beautiful illustrations feature wildlife and humans alongside each other, marvelling at the illuminated sky. It's a wonderful introduction to a topic on the Arctic, or just a very special book to have on the picture book shelf at home.

Heads Up!

Yuval Zommer has written a whole host of beautifully illustrated books championing the natural world - look out for 'The Wild' too!

Publisher Review

In this wonderfully festive picture book, Yuval Zommer imagines the Northern Lights' fleeting journey from space to Earth and how they weave a special magic for the animals and people living in the frozen lands below. From tiny specs of dust to gleaming rays in the dark, the Northern Lights travel across the Arctic, uniting every creature in a celebration that reverberates through land and sea.
